The Nick Becker Scholarship is named after veteran Nick Becker who played an instrumental role in building the David Aylor Law Offices into the flourishing practice it is today. Nick was an outstanding law clerk who left a lasting impression on all who worked with him.
Many veterans suffer from PTSD after entering civilian life, and Nick was no exception. On March 31, 2017, Benjamin Nickolas “Nick” Becker, 36, a U.S. Army combat veteran, Sand Sharks Veterans club member, USCB student, and everyone’s favorite law clerk, made the tragic decision to take his own life. Our wish is to honor his memory by lending a helping hand to a military member or veteran whose hope is to better their future by entering law school.
Deadline is December 15, 2023
The Nick Becker Scholarship is for any active duty military or veteran who is pursuing a legal education. It wasn’t an easy road for Nick Becker to make the transition from military life to law student. His journey inspired David Aylor Law Offices to help an active duty service member or veteran better their legal education by softening the financial burden.
Each year, David Aylor Law Offices will grant $1,000 towards an outstanding veteran or active military member to be used to continue their legal education at an accredited law school, in honor of Nick’s memory. Submit your nominations and applications below.
